REALLY? Well Read This, I’ll try to keep it short.
I have type 2 diabetes but I have not always been overweight. I was active and in good shape until an incident in high school. Since then I have struggled to get back to my former self.
I’ve done just about all the diets, workouts and supplements that promise the world and 15-years later I just accidentally noticed water.
I’ve always heard/read water was important but I always made it PART of what I did. Recently I’ve been REALLY busy at work so I have been concentrating on what I thought was most important… Staying hydrated.
Oh and I am coming off a work injury that had me off my feet for an entire year. So to be safe water is all I drink. Every now and then I will sneak in a small coffee cup of grape juice or cranberry juice with dinner but I use a coffee cup that holds less than 8oz. Water is my main source of hydration all day everyday.
I take 4-5 16oz bottles with me to work in my book bag which I keep at my desk so I have no excuses. I have been unable to get back on my regular work out routine but I do get a minimum of 30 minutes of SOMETHING every day. Eating is important to but after all my studies, trials, and errors I have found that I already knew what I should and shouldn’t eat.
Drinking water is always my main focus from the minute I wake up to the minute I go to bed. I constantly question if I’ve had some water. It keeps my mind off food, I never feel hungry, I’m not usually tired (common now I’m not gonna lie 😉), and I’M LOOSING WEIGHT. I’m loosing it at a healthy and steady rate and it feels like a natural process. I’m not just loosing weight I’m feeling better and getting stronger. I ALMOST did my first pull up since high school yesterday 😱 and let me add that I still weight 322lbs (impressed now?).
My weight has been all over the place. I don’t remember my high school weight but I was average. At my worst I have been at 416lbs and at my best I’ve gotten down to around 270lbs with all kinds of yo-yoing in between. I was almost back down to 300lbs when I got hurt recently and made it back up to over 360lbs. I stepped on my in-laws scale a few days ago and could NOT believe my eyes.
just drink water.
It makes me think of what Bruce Lee says when he talks about being like water but that’s for another post.
